The Buhoma community village walk is a village walk like no other that you should definitely try next time you are in bwindi. It takes you through the villages around Buhoma community and its got 10 exciting sites which include women hand craft here you get to try out making your own basket, Tea and Coffee farms here you get the chance to join other farmers and get to learn how tea is plucked from the farms before its taken to the factory for processing. The Traditional Healer; you get to see the materials that are used to make VIAGR., Banana Brewery and Banana Brewing Homestead, You also visit a community school, get to see the Batwa pygmies dancing and so much more.

| It’s with great anticipation that a new product has been introduced in Bwindi; MOUNTAIN BIKING. It’s fun, exciting, challenging and best of all its good for your health. Want to get a great workout witness breath-taking scenery and benefit a worthy cause? If so, please visit Ride for a Woman (RFW) Bike Stand at Buhoma Community Rest Camp. There you can rent a mountain bike or schedule a bike tour through the stunning Bwindi countryside and Heritage site. There are two trails to cycle along: BWINDI FOREST TRAIL: This trail is from UWA park gate to the River Ivi. There is alot to see on this trail birds, squirrels, duikers, nests, monkeys and if it’s your lucky day you may cross path with a gorilla family. This trail is not only refreshing but relaxing. BUHOMA TRAIL: This trail follows the village walk route but breaks off along the way. You witness culture as you ride. There also nice picnic areas. Guests are advised to carry packed lunch and water on both trails. Rides start at 8.30am every day, it’s advisable to book although guests are welcome anytime during business hours.
To use the forest trail, park entrance fees apply, However if you have tracked its $10 activity fee + $20 Bike fee. A guide is provided if needed. |
